The SPIRIT 3 Telescope is back on line. The original telescope has been upgraded to a new Planewave Instruments CDK 12.5 with a Fingerlakes Instruments Proline 16803 CCD Camera. The imaging characteristics are identical to SPIRIT 4, with a 50 arc minute field of view and a native resolution of 0.7 arc seconds per pixel.

SPIRIT 3 includes Clear, Red, Green and Blue photographic filters as well as a narrowband Hydrogen Alpha (Ha) filter. It operates at a recommended binning mode of 2, which provides an effective resolution of 1.4 arc seconds per pixel.

SPIRIT 3 operates in ‘Scheduled Mode’ via the Telescope Access menu above.
